Master's Seminar

29 April 2024 18.00 - 19.00
Location
Nihon Room

The first (and only) Master’s Seminar of this term will be given by Professor Richard Sennett, distinguished sociologist and former advisor to the Secretary-General of the UN on climate change. His topic will be “Ruling by Acting”.  He will explore the ways in which politics is conducted - especially perhaps on the right - as theatre, from the behaviour of Trump and Johnson, through to the theatre of climate-change denial. He will analyse how politicians do their acting, and will draw conclusions about the future of politics for all of us.

This talk is only open to current students, staff and Fellows of Pembroke College. To book a place, please email the Master's PA, Debbie Brown.
