Dr Mary Newbould is a Fellow at Wolfson College, Cambridge. She completed her PhD at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and has worked as a Supervisor and Director of Studies in English at various colleges for several years; she continues to supervise students reading English, mostly across eighteenth-century literature. Mary also lectures on Shakespeare and Modern Prose for the Faculty of Education at Cambridge, and has previously taught for King’s College, London and L’Université de Strasbourg. Mary’s research interests lie in eighteenth-century literature and visual culture, with a special focus on Laurence Sterne. Her book, Adaptations of Laurence Sterne’s Fiction: Sterneana, 1760-1840 was published in 2013. Mary continues to publish articles and give papers relating to her research at academic events across Europe.
