2021 Pembroke Admissions Round

Pembroke is very excited to be welcoming 133 new undergraduates to the College this October, who have performed exceptionally well despite the challenges they faced as a consequence of COVID-19. We are delighted that every student who was accepted for entry in 2021 and who met the conditions of their offer will be starting with us this academic year.

Our intake this year sees our highest numbers of students from groups that are currently under-represented at the University: 22% of our home students are drawn from the lowest two POLAR4 quintiles (which indicates likelihood to progress to Higher Education), and 23.7% are from the lowest two quintiles of the Indices of Multiple Deprivation (which classifies the relative deprivation of neighbourhoods). In total, 66% of our home students will be admitted from state schools, in line with our application figures.

Many of our students will benefit from the enhanced support available from the new Cambridge Bursary scheme, with students with residual household incomes of less than £25,000 pa receiving non-repayable bursaries of £3,500.

The diversity of our talented student population is one of our greatest strengths and contributes to our inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. We remain strongly focused on encouraging students from all backgrounds to apply to Pembroke, and, Covid-19 permitting, we look forward to warmly welcoming many more prospective applicants to the College in coming weeks and months.
