Pembroke PhD student Peter Dudfield (2007) has just reached home after successfully completing a round-the-world bike ride in aid of the British Red Cross International Disaster Fund.

Peter's 30,000 km (18,640 mile) ride lasted 380 days. His route took him through five continents and included a tricky stint in the Australian desert.

In an article on the BBC Cambridgeshire website, Peter says: 'It's good to be back home though. I'm taking two weeks off just to sleep and eat proper food, then it's back to my PhD.'

To date, he has raised over £14,000 for the British Red Cross International Disaster Fund. To donate, please visit his Virgin Money Giving page.
