The Briena Staunton Visiting Writer Fellowship

The Briena Staunton Visiting Writer Fellowship is held in partnership by Pembroke College University of Cambridge and Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin and rotates between the institutions. The Fellowship allows a distinguished international academic/writer with an exceptional literary and publication record to take up a one month-long residency. In 2019 the first Briena Staunton Fellow will be resident at Trinity College Dublin; in 2021 the second Fellow will be resident at Pembroke College Cambridge.

The duties of the Fellowship include the provision of a number of master classes or workshops for student writers and participation in a public event such as a reading or lecture. The stipend is €10,000 with an additional allowance of up to €2,500 for accommodation.

Expressions of interest in the Trinity 2019 Fellowship are now invited. Potential Fellows should send a letter of application, along with a cv, to Dr Mark Wormald at Pembroke College, Cambridge CB2 1RF (mrw1002@cam.ac.uk), to whom informal inquiries can also be made. Selection will be made by committee. The closing date for applications is 8 June 2018. It is anticipated that a decision will be available by the end of June 2018.

The Briena Staunton Visiting Writer Fellowship is supported through an endowment in honour of Briena Staunton by her nephew James Meaney.
