Dr Sanne Cottaar wins Keiiti Aki Young Scientist Award

Dr Sanne Cottaar has won the 2015 Keiiti Aki Young Scientist Award from the Seismology Section of the American Geophysical Union (AGU).

This award is given each year to an outstanding young seismologist who is within three years of receiving his or her PhD.

Dr Cottaar studies the structure and dynamics of the deep Earth by using waves recorded from strong earthquakes. She is currently the Draper's Company Fellow at Pembroke.

She will be presented with her award in December at the annual AGU meeting and lecture.
