EPSRC grant for Professor Norman Fleck

Professor Norman Fleck has been awarded a significant grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) for the Advanced Nanotubes Applications and Manufacturing initiative.

This initiative aims to make the exciting potential shown by carbon nanotubes into a commercial reality, seeking to 'close the gap between academic achievement and commercial return'.

Professor Fleck and his colleague Dr Adam Boies, both based in the Department of Engineering, are collaborating with the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, and with Ulster University on this project.

The EPSRC has granted £2.8m and now the academics involved are seeking industrial partners.

For more information, see the Department of Engineering website.
