Pembroke Entrepreneurs Win Global Engineering Challenge

'Good Vibrations', a team of Pembroke entrepreneurs have won a global engineering challenge with their device to guage vehicle loads for safe disaster relief.  The Institute of Engineering and Technology Global Challenge encourages young engineers to develop solutions for real-world challenges.  This year the challenge was to develop an on-board device to enable drivers to visually identify whether their vehicle is safely loaded. NGOs and disaster relief organisations often work off-road, and there can be serious consequences from overloaded vehicles. The winning entry is named 'Weigh2Go' and analyses the vibrational response of the car to a known input force.

The students involved were Siddharth Gupta (2014), Joshua de Gromoboy (2014), and Gwilym Rowbottom (2014). All students are in their fourth year of undergraduate engineering.
