Pembroke students take on Varsity sports
This weekend sports teams from across the University are competing in Varsity matches against Oxford. Many of them include Pembroke students:
Captaining the Cambridge Basketball Women's team is Léonie de Jonge (2014), and she's optimistic about their chances: “We’re very well prepared. The team has showed great commitment and worked really hard throughout the season. We’ve improved tremendously over the past months, both individually and as a team, and we’re all very eager to bring home a victory for Cambridge.” (originally published on the Blue Bird website).
Matt Mahmoudi (2016) is representing Cambridge in the B team for Cambridge Gymnastics
Livia Russel (2016) and Beth Sercombe (2015) are both members of University Lacrosse squads.
Hannah Short (2015) has a long few weeks ahead. She's captaining the College football team in the Cuppers semi-final on the 24th March, and also competing against Oxford in March as part of the Eagles - the Women's second team.
Chrysante Iliakis (2016) will be competing as part of the Volleyball second team.
Best of luck to all students taking part in Varsity matches this weekend.
