Phin-tastic!

Phin Adams (2010) will be up against some of the goliaths of radio broadcasting when he attends the Radio Academy Awards on 12 May.

The third year theology student has been short-listed in the Speech Radio Personality of the Year Award category for his Cam FM show Phin's Barmy Brunch. His competition? Oh, only Danny Baker (Campbell Davison Media for BBC Radio 5 live), Johnny Vaughan (talkSPORT), Nick Ferrari (LBC 97.3) and Alan Robson (Metro Radio & TFM)...

Phin broadcasts on Cam FM a radio station run by, and for, students from the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University. It broadcasts over 100 hours of radio a week and is one of the most listened to student radio stations in the UK. One of the features on Phin's Barmy Brunch show is Pop Man, during which Phin plays UK Number 1 singles. His aim is to play all the UK Number 1 songs since records began before he graduates this summer. Phin has even changed his name by deed poll to Pop Man and if he is unable to complete his challenge before graduation on 25 June, that is the name that will be printed on his degree certificate. By 2 April Phin had reached 1972.

The College would like to wish its David/Phin/Pop Man the very best of luck!

Phin's Barmy Brunch broadcasts every Sunday in term time and daily between 11.00 am and 12.00 pm during the Easter holidays. If you live in Cambridge you can tune into Cam FM on 97.2 FM. To listen to the show outside the city, or to catch up on past shows, visit Cam FM's website.
