Professor Christopher Hogwood CBE (1941-2014)

The College is deeply saddened to hear of the death of Christopher Hogwood, aged 73, Honorary Fellow of the College since 1992. He died peacefully from a brain tumour at home in Cambridge with family present, on Wednesday 24 September 2014. The funeral will be private, with a memorial service to be held in London at a later date. Christopher came up to Pembroke in 1960 to read Classics and then Music, graduating in 1964. Among many honours and awards he was made CBE in 1989, Hon MusD of Cambridge University in 2008 and Hon Professor of Music, and elected Hon Fellow of Jesus College.
