Recital: John Mark Ainsley (tenor) & Joseph Middleton (piano)

On Friday 7 November at 8pm in The Old Library, Pembroke College Cambridge John Mark Ainsley (tenor) will be joined by pianist Joseph Middleton for a recital of songs to commemorate the outbreak of World War 1, this will include works by Butterworth, Ireland, Gurney, Gounod, Chausson, Fauré, Poulenc, MacMillan, Ireland and Bridge.  John Mark Ainsley is one of Britain’s most prolific tenors. His extensive international concert work takes him to the world’s finest music centres while his extensive discography includes ‘On Wenlock Edge’, which was nominated for a Gramophone award.  John Mark won the 2007 Royal Philharmonic Society Singer Award. He is accompanied by Pembroke’s College Musician, Joseph Middleton, recently described in BBC Music Magazine as ‘one of the brightest stars in the world of song and Lieder.’
