Reunion Bursaries

Celebrate your reunion and support Pembroke students through giving collectively as a year group

Reunions are a great way of meeting up with old friends and reminiscing about your student days. They also are a fantastic opportunity to come together as a community to support incoming students.

In 2013 Pembroke launched the first Reunion Bursaries Appeal, where alumni celebrating their Reunions came together in their year groups to establish bursaries to support Pembroke students who need it most. The response to this initiative was incredible and together they raised over £30,000 that year and in 2014 our first students were able to benefit from this incredible support!

Since then, the Reunion Giving initiative has blossomed into a proud Pembroke tradition. This year, our alumni who matriculated in 1974, 1984, 1994, 2004, and 2014 will be continuing this tradition and supporting the next generation of Pembroke Students matriculating in 2024 through bursaries named in honour of each year (e.g. the 1984 Reunion Bursary).

Behind the Appeal

With undergraduate students paying £9,250 p.a. in tuition fees and facing an estimated £10,950 p.a. in living costs, the College must provide support to ensure that our students do not face financial hardship, allowing them to fully engage in their studies and pursue their academic ambitions.

It is an incredibly meaningful way to help ensure that everyone who earns their place at Pembroke can enjoy all aspects of College life, regardless of their background. Our aim with the Reunion Bursaries appeal is for each year to raise £15,000 to each provide an enhanced bursary to a student starting in 2024 for the duration of their time at Pembroke.

Thanks to the Reunion Giving Bursary, I've had the immense privilege to study at Pembroke without being forced to take out any loans. In addition, I've had access to a broad and fantastic experience at Cambridge so far, including becoming a member of the Cambridge Union, joining the go-karting society and learning Arabic as a brand-new language.
